These Fried Ravioli are AWESOME! They're coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and fried until golden brown, then topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. You're gonna love them!

I'm telling you now...if you make these fried ravioli for a crowd, you better make double what you think you need. Because I promise they're going to be very popular!

You can prep these ravioli in advance and leave them in the fridge for up to a few hours. Then pull them out when you're just about ready to serve them. They only take a few minutes to fry and they're best served when fresh and piping hot.

How To Make Fried Ravioli

Fried ravioli are so easy. You'll start with some tasty cheese ravioli. You can fresh, but I typically use frozen ravioli and I let them thaw before breading.

Dip each ravioli in egg wash and then dredge in seasoned breadcrumbs. Then fry until perfectly brown. Sprinkle with a little fresh parsley and grated parmesan and you've got yourself a fun and delicious snack!

Deep Fry, Air Fry, Or Oven Baked

You have a few options when it comes to preparing fried ravioli.

If you order fried ravioli at a restaurant they are most likely deep fried, and that's how I prefer them. You just can't beat the crispiness and flavor of deep-fried ravioli.

If you don't have a deep fryer in your home kitchen, you can just fill a pot with enough oil to submerge the ravioli and fry them in there.

Temperature management is key when deep-frying ravioli. If the oil is not hot enough they'll absorb too much oil and come out greasy. If the oil is too hot the breading will brown too quickly and may look unappetizing. Aim for a temperature of about 350 F.

If you want to minimize cleanup and skip the oil, you can cook them in an air fryer. Set the temperature to 350 F and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes.

Finally, you can bake them in the oven...though technically they wouldn't be "fried" then would they?

If you want to use the oven method, place a wire baking rack on a half sheet pan and spread the breaded ravioli on the rack in a single layer. Bake in 400 F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Did You Know?

Fried ravioli are sometimes called "toasted" ravioli, particularly in St Louis. Legend has it they were invented there by accident, though there is much debate over exactly WHO invented them. This article is a great read on the competing stories of the "first" toasted ravioli.

What Dipping Sauce Goes With Fried Ravioli?

Fried ravioli are traditionally served with marinara sauce, but other options include vodka sauce, ranch dipping sauce, buffalo sauce, honey mustard, or queso.
